Jethou Open Days

Jethou is normally off limits to visitors, but on rare charity open days you can actually step ashore and explore this privately occupied island from Guernsey. These special day trips are usually organised by Les Bourgs Hospice with the support of the island’s tenant, and tickets tend to sell out very quickly once released. The price typically includes return boat travel on the Herm Trident, several hours to walk around Jethou, and a simple baguette lunch served in the manor gardens, with extra refreshments such as a Pimms bar or Liberation beer available to buy. Numbers are strictly limited, pets and smoking are not allowed, and the trip is not suitable for young children or anyone with significant mobility issues due to the terrain and boarding arrangements. These occasional open days offer one of the Channel Islands’ most exclusive day trips, combining a scenic boat ride with a rare chance to experience an otherwise private island while supporting local hospice care.
